Carpet tiles, often also referred to as carpet squares, have become a popular flooring option. It is the practicality, affordability, and advantages that come with this option that has made it so attractive.

It’s difficult to go wrong with carpet tiles. They come in various colors, patterns, and designs. Whether you’re looking to add some carpet to a bedroom or hallway, or you want to spruce up an office space, carpet tiles are always a good way to go.

Carpet tiles commonly come in modular sizes, like 24 x 24 inches, making them perfect for creating geometric patterns. This way you can ensure you get the perfect look and feel for your space.

Types of Carpet Tiles
Most commonly, carpet tiles are created using several different materials, including wool, nylon, polyester, cotton, and more. Here are some of the most popular choices.

  • Nylon: One of the more affordable options, nylon is popular for its durability and comfort. It is not prone to stains and is not easily affected by foot traffic.

  • Polypropylene: This synthetic material does not fade easily. While it gives off the look of wool, it is not as durable.

  • Recycled fibers: Made of a combination of waste, like fishing nets, this option comes with benefits such as durability and being the sustainable option. Its cost bracket is mid-range.

  • Wool: A more costly choice, wool is natural, strong, stain-resistant, and comes with an air of luxury. Wool offers soft comfort while remaining sturdy and intact at the same time.

  • Polyester: Also synthetic and affordable, polyester is versatile. It has, however, been known to be of lower quality than other options.

Are Carpet Tiles Better Than Carpet?
There are arguments to be made for both. However, carpet tiles are much easier to install than a carpet. Since carpet tiles come in various modular sizes they are better in terms of fitting perfectly into your specific space. This also leads to less waste of material while you install it.

Because carpet tiles come in smaller sizes, you can buy only what you need, which means you’ll save money too.

How To Install Carpet Tiles
Carpet tiles are known for being easy to install - making them the perfect DIY option. They are installed either by gluing them down or they come with a peel-and-stick backing.

For both installation options, the base surface must be clean, level, and dry. If it is glossy, sand it so that the carpet tile sticks well. To have the best stick, the room temperature must be around 65°F (18°C).

Once these factors are under control, set the tiles. Edges of each tile must align perfectly with all other tiles.

What Are The Benefits Of Carpet Tiles
Carpet tiles offer several benefits. They are more comfortable and safer than hard flooring. In addition, they are versatile and suitable for use in a variety of different spaces as they come in endless colors and patterns.

They also help to regulate room temperature and acoustics. Furthermore, carpet tiles are a cost-effective, easy to install option, with minimal risk factors.
